Langham Hotels International has announced it will open in 2013 the only hotel connected to the Guangzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center, home to the Canton Import and Export Fair and Asia’s largest Exhibition space. The landmark property, Langham Place, Pazhou, Guangzhou has been designed to capitalise on the extensive business and leisure opportunities in the region.
The management agreement for this strategically-located hotel is with the leading Hong Kong property developer, Nan Fung Group, which is also developing a sister tower of similar structural design for commercial use. This 20th property in Langham’s fast growing portfolio has been hailed as a modern architectural gem.
The 488-room property will feature inspiring interiors from world-renowned interior design company, Yabu Pushelberg, who has been responsible for some of the most exciting projects for luxury retail and hospitality brands in the last decade.
The trendsetting design will add a backdrop of international sophistication to meetings and events in this modern world-class facility. The hotel will feature exceptionally large meeting spaces including a 3,000sq m Great Room which is almost the size of three Olympic swimming pools as well as stunning alfresco spaces for chic and sensuous outdoor events.
Langham Place will seamlessly link to the city and its neighbours with both its own entrance to the subway station and as the only property linked directly to the exhibition centre and Canton Fair with its own private air-conditioned walkway.

Within the contemporary designer setting, guests will discover a signature Cantonese restaurant spanning two floors with13 private rooms , a vibrant, interactive international restaurant with a sense of theatre that’s open for any occasion and a stunning, lifestyle restaurant and bar built above the lobby atrium for lounging and sparkling after-hours entertainment. The inspiring concept high above the lobby includes a speciality Restaurant, Cigar Room, Private Dining and an entertainment club. This will be the new hotspot for connoisseurs of a stimulating lifestyle.
The hotel will also introduce Portal – Work & Play - a pioneering lounge bar concept that recognises today’s travellers often work and play in the same space.
For wellness lovers, the hotel will feature the group’s signature Chuan Spa, taking guests on a journey of wellbeing with holistic pampering treatments based on the philosophy of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The leisure facilities also include a semi-indoors swimming pool with a retractable roof for water activities in all weather.
